This course is a dynamic exploration of how change happens and how you can create positive impact.
We'll bring you compelling research, inspiring practice examples, and practical skills that will help you understand and bring about impact by applying them to your own idea and cause.
The world is burning and things are tough for change-makers. And yet, we know more about the mechanisms of change than you might think.
We need all the tools in the toolbox, and we all deserve to be empowered with a working knowledge of what moves the needle.
🪧 Impact via Social Movements: Discover how social movements work and what their impact can look like. Start your own impact practice by identifying a cause you are passionate about.
📝 Impact via Policy Change: Explore the science of policy change with plenty of pop culture examples. Learn to analyze your environment and the different groups within it.
📣 Impact via Communication: Learn about proven and promising communication techniques that have real impact. Experiment with approaches to communicate your own impact idea.
🎯 Impact in Action: Discover two really useful approaches employed by professionals in the impact sector. Learn to build a solid causal chain—a ‘Theory of Change’—to guide your impact idea.
Intro to Impact is a conversational, fun, and engaging journey over 5 live and interactive workshops that aims to inspire hope, curiosity, and fascination with the possibilities out there. It will leave you saying “I didn’t know this existed!”
Change is hard. Together, we will weigh both the hope and the tough stuff to create a grounded and constructive approach that helps us move forward to secure a better future.

Why I made this course
The truth is I made this course because I want to make the world a better place.
I often preface this with "it's cheesy, but..." to avoid sounding naïve. But instead of trying to sound cool or professionally detached, I want to nourish the parts of me that are wide-eyed and sincere and believe in something better. Honestly, while we are living through the polycrisis, being cheesy should really be the least of our worries.
So if you want to make the world a better place too, maybe you’ve felt insignificant, small, or lonely when trying to create change. I know I have – so many times.
This course is an antidote to that. It’s built for nerding out together, being in community, and feeling heard and seen.
From designing learning experiences for policy-makers to fundraising millions of dollars, from working in violence prevention to working in climate, I’ve seen many facets of the impact sector and different approaches in it.
And no matter what I do, at the heart of my work I want to better understand how we can create positive impact – and to share this knowledge in a way that’s both fun and meaningful.

You are warmly invited to join us in this impact extravaganza - regardless of your age, background or experience. No need to bring pre-existing knowledge, we will explore all the insights we need together in the course.
All you need to bring is your attention, digital presence, and a (perhaps hidden) motivation to make the world a bit of a better place - even if it sounds cheesy.
